FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS ANNOUNCES “THE JUNGLE”
New fan zone will open for the December 17th game
JACKSONVILLE, Dec. 2, 2009 - The Jacksonville Jaguars have created a new fan zone geared towards a younger crowd that features a club-like atmosphere called, “The Jungle.”
The Jaguars have been in the process of transforming their upper deck seating into “The Jungle” for the past several weeks. The club is finally ready to unveil the new features and will open the Jungle to fans at the game Jaguars v. Colts game on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009. The Jungle will feature an atmosphere similar to that of the Cleveland Brown’s “Dog Pound.” The Jungle is something the Jaguars haven’t done before, and will have plenty of special deals for the fans.
“I think The Jungle will broaden the Jaguars fan-base as well as increase the number of
fans coming to each home game,” said Tim Connolly, Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Jaguars. “The Jungle will not only be a great place for Jaguars fans to congregate, socialize and watch the game, but it will be beneficial to the Jaguars as well, hopefully bringing in new revenue and passion.”
Since the Jungle is aimed towards people in their mid-twenties, which includes college students, the Jaguars will have special deals for students who provide their school IDs. The deals will include special ticket prices, as well as lower group ticket prices, and discounts on drinks and food.
The Jaguars are focused on making The Jungle the place to be, and will be promoting at local clubs and events in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach. We will be giving away special promotion tickets that will give fans discounted drinks and admission, while some will receive free refreshments and tickets.
“I think The Jungle is going to be a great success and I hope we see tons of fans enjoying themselves and the games,” said David Garrard, quarterback for the Jaguars. “I want them to get rowdy up there and support our hometown team.”
